This is from the 2nd Ed printing over on Acaeum.
First (1991): TSR Angled Logo. 10-digit UPC. No printing information. No Canadian suggested retail price. RPGA advert on next to last page. Matte cover. Contains the spell Mindkiller (p. 107).
Second (1991, July): TSR Gold Angled Logo. Identical to first print, except printing information on page 2 and Mindkiller spell changed to Mind Tracker.
Third – Fifth: Unknown.
Sixth (1995, February): TSR Dragon logo. 12-digit UPC. Canadian suggested retail price $26. Glossy cover. D&D product listings on the front and back fly leaves. Advert on next to last page is for Council of Wryms.
Seventh (1996, March): TSR Dragon logo. 12-digit UPC. "2nd Edition" dropped from Advaced Dungeons & Dragons. Cover style matches the "Revised Editions". Softcover (maybe a hardcover was produced as well). Advert on next to last page is for Council of Wryms. UK suggested retail price omitted. Canadian suggested retail price $25. Back cover bears WoTC's addresses.
Eighth? (1999): 18-digit UPC, $20.00 U.S. and $30.00 Canadian cover prices. Continues to state "Seventh Printing: March, 1996" on interior although it has 1999 copyright date elsewhere in interior and on back cover.

I just found a softcover that has TSR02121 instead of TSR2121 on the cover. Will add it the main page in a moment. _________________ Tome of Treasures - #1 resource for collectible role-playing games.

I have a hardcover that matches this:
* dragon Logo
* 2nd Edition dropped
* 2nd last page Coucil of Wyrms advert
* Canadian retail is $25
* States 7th printing March 1996
It does however have a UK suggested retail price of 11.99 pounds and only has the 1991 TSR Inc copyright
What are the WotC addresses? The ones on the back of this book are 201 Sheridan SPrings Rd, Lake Geneva and 120 Church End. I think these are the TSR ones.

I also have what is probably a 3rd-5th print:
* TSR Gold Angled Logo
* Canadian price of $24
* Mind Tracker spell on p107
* Printing says "2nd Printing, July 1991"
* 2nd last page advert is Arms and Equipment Guide

Okay, this is what I have . . . keep in mind, I can't verify interior contents as these are archived pics. 1st is Angled TSR logo, 2nd is Gold Logo, no Canadian price. 3rd/4th has Canadian price of $23.50. 4th/5th has Canadian price of $24.00 (I do not know which is 3rd/4th/5th as one is missing and I can't open them up to do further research).
6th is Dragon Logo. 7th is Black Cover. I don't have any scans of the 8th.

I have just finished a three week project whereby I scanned, OCRed, and typeset my 2nd printing of the Tome of Magic. My copy was junk and so for posterity (the PDF will be donated to WotC) it was dissasembled.
Here is a list of the errata or oddities that came to my attention. There may have been others that I missed.
• page 2: 2nd col., 2nd para.; Tome of Magic not italicized.
• page 54: 2nd col., last 2 para.; left aligned instead of justified.
• page 76: 1st col., 3rd para. from bottom; exhausted misspelled.
• page 103: 1st col., 2nd para. from bottom, encountered misspelled.
• page 106: 2nd col., Divine Inspration does not list spell sphere.
• page 132: 2nd col. 3rd para. From bottom, Player’s handbook has no apostrophe.
• page 152: header, no icon & first 3 para. indented as Wizard spells and Spell index are not.
• page 153: no icon.
• page 156: 1st col., Divine Enhancement does not list spell class (wizard or priest) nor parentheses.
• page 157: 3rd col., Mind Fog does not list spell class (wizard or priest) nor parentheses.
To recap other items particular to the 2nd printing that have been discussed:
• It uses the gold ingit TSR logo.
• The spell Mindkiller has been changed to Mind Tracker (p. 107).
• It lists the US price at $20.00 and U.K. price at £11.99. Canadian price is not listed.
• It uses the AD&D 2nd Edition logo in blue.
• It uses a 10-digit ISBN number.
• It uses the Lake Geneva (U.S) and Cambridge (U.K.) addresses.
With the list of errata uncovered it should be possible to examine other printings and see what, if any, other oddities exist.

P.S. I do need, desperately, high-quality scans to complete my little project. My covers were in tatters.

Hey Spider,
thanks for posting that. I haven't had a chance to post the other item yet either. But I think these sorts of errors might distinguish a few more prints.

You are welcome Mars,
Please go ahead and post that other oddity. I will share in the thunder.<grin>
I may in the next month or so turn my attention to one of the other hardbound books of which we spoke. I first need to complete my "Digital Foreword" for the Tome of Magic and enter into a dialogue with WotC.

P.S. I believe we had discussed about you posting the two 2nd Ed. PHB covers I had sent you.
