Steve Winter is one of the important gamed editors and designers from the TSR AD&D era. He was nearly 20 years with TSR, did a lot of editing and earned
credits for the 1st Edition battle combat rules BATTLESYSTEM (with Douglas Niles).
He was on the core design team for the 2nd Edition rules (with Skip Williams, David "Zeb" Cook, and Jon Pickens).
Winter later took the position of Creative Director for AD&D at TSR, holding the position until the WOTC takeover.
